For reverse transcription of eukaryotic mRNA before qPCR or RNA sequencing

  • STEMscript™ cDNA Synthesis Kit includes three components that have been optimized to provide efficient synthesis of first-strand cDNA in preparation for qPCR amplification: STEMscript™ Reverse Transcriptase Mix (contains STEMscript™ Reverse Transcriptase purified from recombinant E
  • coli, and recombinant ribonuclease inhibitor), STEMscript™ Reaction Buffer (contains primers, MgCl2, and dNTPs), and nuclease-free water
  • This kit can be used to reverse transcribe total RNA, mRNA, or synthetic transcript RNA, and is required for gene expression analyses such as qPCR and RNA sequencing
  • STEMscript™ cDNA Synthesis Kit is available with either oligo(dT) or random primers
  • Oligo(dT) primers anneal to the poly(A) tails of eukaryotic mRNAs, whereas random primers are used for reverse transcription of RNA without poly(A) tails, such as rRNA, tRNA, degraded RNA, RNA isolated from prokaryotic sources, and RNA with known secondary structures
