Description

Isolate fungi and presumptively identify Candida albicans from clinical specimens with this space saving, convinient bi-plate.

Isolate fungi and presumptively identify Candida albicans from clinical specimens, with ready-to-use Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Sabouraud GC / Chromogenic C albicans Agar, a single bi-plate which includes two separate formulations. The Sabouraud GC medium creates selective conditions for isolation and cultivation of fungi while Chromogenic C. albicans Agar enables the presumptive identification of Candida albicans. The convenient bi-plate format frees up incubator space.

Use Sabouraud GC / Chromogenic C. albicans Agar for isolation of fungi and presumptive identification of Candida albicans from clinical specimens.

Sabouraud GC Agar is suitable for cultivation and differentiation of fungi. The fungi maintain their typical cultural appearance thus may be readily identified according to macroscopic characters.

Chromogenic C albicans Agar is a selective differential medium for the isolation of Candida spp. And presumptive identification of C. albicans. Differentiation of C. albicans is achieved by the addition of chromogenic substrate to detect the activity of enzyme β-Glucosaminidase.
