Cell Scrapers
Cell Scrapers
Long-handled devices with angled, beveled heads designed to harvest cells from cell and tissue culture flasks, dishes, and bottles. Provides even contact and reduces cell damage during harvesting. Sterile and available in various lengths and designs.
Cell scrapers and lifters are designed to accommodate a variety of cell culture vessels. They are used for easy and gentle harvesting of intact cell monolayers or cell lysates from tissue culture flasks, culture dishes, multiwell plates or tubes and bottles by scraping the growth surface. They are available with a fixed blade or pivoting blade to allow the user to adjust the position of the scraper blade and provide access to all corners of the cell culture flask or tissue culture vessel.
What are cell scrapers used for?
- Cell scrapers are designed to gently harvest the cells from tissue culture flasks, dishes, or bottles
- Flexible joint between blade and handle facilitates easy vessel entry
- Pivoting blade cell scrapers adjust to the desired position to reach difficult angles during cell harvesting
- Fixed blades are perpendicular to the handle to allow a raking motion
- Scraper blades are positioned parallel to the handle for windshield wiper-like scraping
Available in various sizes to accommodate multiple laboratory needs, scrapers are available in sterile and non-sterile versions and are typically manufactured from polystyrene with polyethylene blades.
- Sterile or non-sterile versions
- Non-pyrogenic
- Polyethylene co-polymer blades to minimize cell damage
